Energy Centers of the Body

There are seven main chakras in the body. The word chakra is Sanskrit for "wheel". Often the chakras are referred to as spinning wheels of energy.

| 7th | Crown | top of head | white or violet | connection to higher self, precognition |
| 6th | Third Eye | above the eyes | indigo | clairvoyance, higher consciousness, vision |
| 5th | Throat | throat region | blue | communication, clairaudience, self-expression, sound |
| 4th | Heart | heart region | green | love, seat of the soul |
| 3rd | Solar Plexus | above the navel (belly button) & below ribs | yellow | personal power, will |
| 2nd | Creativity | below the navel, where the sex organs are | orange | feelings, sexuality, creativity, clairsentience |
| 1st | Root | near tailbone, at bottom of spine | red | sense of safety, survival, family, grounding |
Within the body, there are other smaller chakras, such as ones located in the hands and feet. Some people believe there are more chakras above the body, in the person's energy field.
